We are pleased to introduce Georgios Spyrou as the latest addition to our esteemed team as a Fleet Manager. Georgios’ extensive career in the maritime industry is marked by remarkable achievements and a profound wealth of experience, positioning him as a valuable asset within our organization.
Georgios earned his Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, coupled with the 3rd Engineer certificate, from the renowned Aspropyrgos Marine Academy. His rigorous 3+1 year education has solidified a strong foundation for his future endeavors within the maritime sector.
His career commenced with a series of captivating seafaring experiences across diverse vessels, including bulk carriers and containerships. Among the numerous milestones of his seafaring tenure, one indelible moment stands out: the official presentation of his Chief Engineers Epaulettes aboard a 14,000 TEU Container vessel, notably one of the largest vessels at the time.
Transitioning ashore, Georgios assumed roles that have significantly contributed to his professional growth. His tenure with EASTMED saw him excel as a Senior Machinery Supervisor at GWS Shipyard in China, where he effectively managed the construction of six newbuild vessels, showcasing his aptitude for overseeing intricate operations. Continuing his upward trajectory, Georgios joined Wallem (Hong Kong) as a Senior Technical Superintendent, where he devoted nearly four years to refining his leadership skills and gaining extensive experience.
Georgios’ career journey led him to Cyprus, where he assumed the position of Fleet Manager at Safebulkers. Over a two-year period, he expertly managed BWTS/EGCS retrofits, conducted extensive drydocks, and amassed considerable knowledge through extensive global travels. Georgios extended his skills by joining Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement – CY with the role of Senior Technical Superintendent.
Georgios’ dedication to professional development is evident through his pursuit of an MSc in Shipmanagement from Greenwich University, further solidifying his expertise within the industry.
Today, Georgios takes on the role of Fleet Manager at Pelagic Partners. His accomplished skill set and a distinguished track record position him as a key asset to our organization. We eagerly anticipate the transformative contributions he will bring to our team as he embarks on this new chapter of his illustrious career.
